What information should be included in the CV?
S: A CV should contain your personal details, the information about your education and qualifications as well as about the languages you speak, the information about your work experience and personal qualities.
Group task:
The task: You should advise your classmate to make the right choice. You should consider the personal qualities of your classmates and the traits of character. Discuss the task in groups.

T: Now, students, I wonder if there were any useful tips for job applicants in this video. Which of you have written down some advice? Will you look at the smart board and see if you could use these word combinations as prompts.

You should keep the eye contact with the Hiring Manager.
You should keep smiling at the interview.
You shouldn’t make a bone crashing handshake.
You should give only relevant information about yourself, not tell the Manager your biography.
You should turn off your cell phone. If you forget to do it and your phone is ringing, you should apologise and turn it off without checking up who is calling.
You should not wear too much perfume.
You should not set a stress on your weak points. On the contrary, you should concentrate on the points which can be improved.
You should have a copy of your CV/resume
You can ask for a Manager’s business card.
You should ask right questions and answer the Manager’s questions right.

T: Well done! Now it’s time to relax. Let us watch a humorous video about the origin of a job interview. Note, that the characters of this film have rather strange pronunciation, so it’s advisable to follow the titles. Try to detect if the job interview presented in this video follows the common rules of this procedure.

T: Now, students, will you work in pairs and try to make up a dialogue. Let one of you be the interviewer and the other one be an applicant. I’d like you to act out a Job Interview. You will have 3 minutes to prepare your performance.

Our goal is to get to know as much as possible about different kind of profession, about abilities, skills and to make a plan about your future profession.
1. Speak on the topic
Let’s read these quotations and explain them.
If a man wishes to improve himself, let him improve his work. Труд – это лучший инструмент для самосовершенствования. Develop yourself: abilities, skills, talents.
Qualifications save explanations. Профессионализм говорит сам за себя.
If you are a skilled person you shouldn’t explain that you work well only do all the best.

Gess the topic of our lesson.
First of all, I`d like to find the difference between the words: work / job / profession.
Work – means to have a job, to do the job that you are paid for.
Profession – a job that needs a special education and training. If you want to get good profession you should study a lot.
Study the combination: by profession/choose smth as a profession.
Here are the examples: What is your mother by profession? Will you choose law as a profession?
Job – the regular paid work that you do for an employer.
Study the expressions: get/find, take/accept, Saturday/summer/holiday job
Study the examples: Did you work a holiday job this summer?
Let’s talk a little bit about work.
Nowadays there is a lot of unemployment so it is getting more and more difficult to get the kind of job you really want. Then you have to decide what is more important to you and how much you want to earn. Do you want to work with your hands (called manual work) or do you prefer to work in an office? Do you prefer to work indoors or outdoors?
At the end of the school you must choose a job which helps you in your life. Now you should think about it. Your teachers, parents, friends advice you what kind of job you should choose. Today at our lesson we’ll try to discuss what the best way to have a job, what skills and abilities are needed to be successful in it. You’ll do some exercises, quiz.

2. The plan of the lesson.
There are many interesting, useful and noble professions. Name the words of professions in chain. But do it quickly.
After that let’s play a game snow-ball and all the words in your mind and add yours.

3. Anagram.
Very good! I’m sure that you can write a letter to your pen-friend and use these words correctly!
4. Let’s define the words – who is a teacher, who is a …. .
5. What qualities should people have according to their professions?

A pilot should be well educated, intelligent, to know Math well, healthy and brave..
Sales assistant should be friendly, attentive and to be a good helper for customers..
